Who needs a pickup?

Many people have the misconception that their lifestyle requires a pickup truck. "To haul stuff," they say. And while that is occasionally true for extremely large things like pianos, for a vast majority of truck use cases, a normal four-door sedan or minivan will serve just as well. Don't believe me? Here, I'll show you:

Example #1:
February, 2007 - Approximately 1350 lbs of tile, grout, and mortar in a 1994 Honda Civic. Plus my own 165 lbs. We were tiling our kitchen, dining room, and entry.

Example #2:
April 8, 2009 - An unknown weight of fencing materials: 108 pickets, 8 4x4x8's, and 28 2x4x8's, all pressure treated, in a '01 Honda Odyssey. That minivan, by the way, can fit a full sheet of plywood flat on the floor with the back door closed. Which is more than you can say for most pickups on the road. (we're rebuilding part of our fence)

Example #3:
April 10, 2009 - About 800 lbs of quick-setting concrete in a 1995 Corolla on my way home from work.
