One more reason to drive

A couple days ago, I booked a flight for our family to visit other family in May. I had enough frequent flyer miles to cover our kids' tickets, and then purchased the tickets for my wife and myself. Today, I realized that I put the kids on a different flight from ours.

$340 later, we're all on the same flight. Changing our tickets, something that perhaps cost the airline a few cents in electricity, hardware depreciation, and maintenance contracts, cost us $150/ticket plus the difference in fares.

Next time, we're driving.

Unsold cars on google maps

Inspired by a business insider posting, I decided to look for some of these car lots on google maps. Here's what I found so far:

Newark, NJ (This one just keeps on going in every direction)
Long Beach, CA (Toyota)
Valencia, Spain
Sherness, Kent, UK
Corby, Northamptonshire
The Corby, Sunderland plant doesn't show large stocks of cars on the track.
Tokyo and again
Civitavecchia, Italy
Avonmouth, Bristol, UK
Unlike Corby, the disused Upper Heyford airbase near Bicester, Oxfordshire is full of cars.
Lastly, Detroit, and again. and again.
